Built on the site of the Westwood Cinema 6, the Carmike Cinema 12 became Fayetteville’s first megaplex theatre that opened to the public on October 4, 1996 under Carmike Cinemas. All auditoriums have stadium seating with full THX and Digital Sound in all auditoriums. It was closed in September 2016.

The was formerly the Westwood 6 Cinemas that opened in 1979 and was closed in 1995. The former theatre was demolished in early 1995 and in it’s place Carmike Cinemas built a huge 12-screen plex that opened on October 4, 1996.
Raysson: When did Carmike upgrade this theater to stadium seating? When it opened in 1996 it was a slant-floor theater; at least this theater is keeping up with its sister theater Market Fair 15 and the Millstone in Hope Mills.
The all digital projection and DTS sound wasn’t installed until 2004.
NightHawk1: Carmike opened this theatre in 1996 as a slant-floor theater with 12 screens, and by the mid-2000’s this theater upgraded to stadium seating and Dobly digital sound and expanded the concession stand. By 2004,it upgraded to digital projection and DTS sound.
According to Carmike’s website, this location is closed.
I have information that suggests this theatre closed in September of 2016. Does anybody have anything that suggests it actually closed January 2017?
When I was updating all the Carmikes to be AMCs on Cinematour I noticed that this was not part of the list on AMC’s website, so I think this closed before December 2016.
Scott Neff: You are probably correct about the closing date of the Fayetteville Carmike 12. This theatre was on neither Carmike’s nor AMC’s websites. The last post on this theater’s page before mine last night was from 2013.
