Tice Drive-In

Built in the early-1960’s, the Tice Drive-In apparently replaced the South 11 Drive-In further north on Memorial Drive. The Tice Drive-In was co-owned with the Meadowbrook Drive-In in north Greenville. At the time of its operation, the Tice Drive-In had a Greenville address (the site has since been annexed by Winterville). The theatre was located next to Pitt Community College (formerly Pitt Technical Institute); after the Tice Drive-In closed in 1986 it was used by PCC for student parking. The Tice Drive-In has since been demolished and replaced by a Burger King and a shopping center.

This was the last locally owned and operated cinema in the Greenville area. It went out of business in September 1986 after the drive-in season ended.

The road running between Burger King and Pitt Community College was named Tice Road after the drive-in theater formerly located on the Burger King/shopping center site.
