Built by the Gulf States circuit and opened on June 27, 1969 as a twin screen theatre with Dick Van Dyke in “Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang” and John Wayne in “True Grit. Located in a then-thriving Natchez shopping center, the Tracetown Twin Cinema served the city well for its run, which extended a few years after the city and chain’s addition of a nearby mall cinema. The Tracetown Twin Cinema featured a down-the-middle split with equal-sized houses. It closed in May 1993, and was used as a church for some years after. Demolition of the building occurred in late-April, 2011.
