During the mid-1980’s, a theatre chain called Fairlane-Litchfield started popping around the South, buying up locations from theatre chains wanting to dump screens. The Litchfield Cinemas in Rome, GA. were four screens playing two shows nightly except on the weekends when they included matinees.
Bought out by United Artists, most locations were sold to Regal which kept them for a few years before letting the smaller cities' theatres decay with mould, and letting the property decline. In October 2021 it was being converted into a storage facility.
