Little is known about this circa-1900 theater. In the 1940’s, it was operating as the Fremont Theater. By 1950, it had been re-named Star Theater. It has been vacant and deteriorating for a number of years. It has had little or no apparent maintenance in years. It has a tree growing in it’s rear brick wall, roof leaks and so on.

The Star Theater is rumored to be for for sale, along with two adjacent buildings to its right from the street. Interested parties can contact:
Fremont Town Hall

The Star Theater is directly across from Town Hall.

The theater has three round window openings at the top.

On the Photo with the Map, the Theater is the 3rd Building from the corner. Also some good photos at the Website, look for those 3 Round Windows.

Open till ~1955? Can anyone verify the exact dates?

Wouldn’t make much sense to have a frEEmont theater in frEmont?

More info and more photos always welcome.

The theater and the adjacent buildings have been purchased, the price for all three together was under $15,000.

As understood, there is a tentative plan to gut all three buildings and instal either a distillery or a brewery in an effort to bring life to this otherwise sleepy farming community.
