Located at the Bazaar of All Nations, the GCC Clifton Hights Cinema originally opened on August 10, 1966 with James Coburn in “What Did You Do in the War, Daddy?”. This was a typical GCC single screen theater. It had the typical shadow box screen very common with GCC theaters. In the early-1970’s it was twinned down the middle and made two nice theaters. Once UA purchased the SamEric chain, the theater didn’t last very long. It was closed on June 29, 1993.

The most I can tell you is it was on Baltimore Pike next to the Bazzar which was torn down many years ago.

not sure what year it closed. but through my research iam seeing the it was open up until summer 0f 1983, trading places show here. Other films that shown here were – Happy Birthday to Me May 1981, The Boogey Man, 1980 The Funhouse March 81 An officer and a gentlemen, 1982. and Battle Beyond the Stars 1980.
Ok, went over to cinema tour and theres pictures of it still being open as of May 1993, one of the movies showing is Falling Down. so not sure how much longer it lasted after that..
Genera Cinema opened here on August 10th, 1966. At a leasing exit point at 15 years, General Cinemas left the venue. Sameric Circuit took on the venue renaming it as the Eric Twin Clifton Heights in 1981. In May of 1988, United Artists purchased Sameric Corp.’s theaters, including the Clifton Heights which ran under the UA Eric Clifton Heights Twin banner into the 1990s.
United Artists renamed it in 1992 as the UA Clifton Heights Twin (dropping the Eric nameplate) but closed the duplex on June 29, 1993 at end of lease as a discount, sub-run house with “Lost in Yonkers” and “Benny & Joon” splitting a screen with “The Adventures of Huck Finn.”
