The Booker-T Theatre was opened in 1938 with seating listed at 300. From the mid-1940’s through its closing in it was operated by Theatre Services.
The Booker-T closed in 1946 and received a Streamline Moderne style makeover, reopening on April 13, 1946. It continued to operate into the 1950’s and has since been demolished.

Did Booker-T and the M.G.s ever play there?Only joking.
Jerry Dallas’s Movie Theaters in Twentieth-Century Jackson, Mississippi says that the Booker-T Theatre was in a new brick building erected on the site of the first Alamo Theatre.
It appears to be opened in 1938. Construction of the theater began in November 1937.
Closed for a streamline moderne refresh in 1946 and came back with that new look on April 13, 1946.
