The Academy Theatre operated between 1934 and 1965.
In 2008 it is operating as the Allegro Restaurant. By 2022 it was in use as a community center.

That flickr picture of the Starbucks is at Queen West & Dovercout, not the address listed for this theatre.
From another site: 1286 Bloor St. West near Lansdowne (1934-1965) â€"498 seats – still standing but with different uses
Actually, Mercer Union, a centre for contemporary art – Toronto’s leading artist-run centre – has operated in the former cinema’s space since September 2008. Mercer Union’s galleries retain the original tin ceilings, but the sloped floor and orchestra pit have been covered with a newer level surface.
The Academy Theatre was part of a larger entertainment complex at 1286 Bloor West that included a billiards room on the second floor, and bowling alleys on the third floor. Those floors including the projection room above the Academy Theatre lobby are now residential apartments.

This was a B & F (Bloom and Fine) Theatre. They were partners of Famous Players Canadian Corporation and operated some lovely neighbourhood theatres in Toronto. The Academy was the only one of their theatres that was a hole!
Now a community center.
