Elite Theater

The Elite Theater was operating prior to 1941. Boxoffice magazine reported in June 1949 that Joe Smith had sold the Elite Theater to G.H. Partlow. Partlow also owned theaters in Stuart and Logan at the time. Partlow announced that his son-in-law, "Lucky" Lucksinger, who had been managing the Monona Theater, would be in charge of the Elite Theater.

The Elite Theatre opened in 1915. The theater was once abandoned for a few years when it was once closed on December 31, 1957 until the theater reopened in early March 1964. The Elite closed its doors for the final time during the first week of February 1975.

Ken McIntyre- The overview mentions a theatre in Logan and a Monona Theater. These theatres are not on Cinema Treasures.

The address is wrong. The correct address is 104 N 3rd St. The building in the photo was extensively remodeled, and it and the building to the north were joined in a rather bland red brick facade. This appears to have happened in the late ‘50s or early '60s, judging from the style. The space is used by a salon and a chiropractor.
