R.R. Crutchfield opened Dentons’s first movie theater, the Amuzu Theater on September 9th 1909, which was located on the north side of the town square. Ben Husbands bought the Amuzu Theater that same year and renamed it the Majestic Theater.
In 1911 E.N. Moreman bought the Majestic Theater and after two years sold it to J.M. Vivion and C.L. Hilger who then renamed it the Princess Theater. Denton’s very first movie theater closed after a thirteen year run.
