The theater has dropped delivery to seat and now online orders are placed on a shelving unit by the windows.

AMC Theaters now offers Delivery to seat for online concession orders at this location. The former mcguffin’s bar is still closed and is unlikely to reopen until they regain a liquor license.

Update: the front of the building sign that said New Vision theaters has been replaced with an amc sign where it was 7 years ago, the one on tilghman and the one on the back of the building still say New Vision

All signage inside except for some stars painted by the counter has been removed by AMC, AMC signage is up all inside with all projection also saying AMC. The exterior sign still says New Vision and is yet to be changed.

The theater is back open the signs outside still say New Vision Theaters but a dead company is unlikely to complain.

An Morning Call article on the reopening process for the theater https://www.pressreader.com/usa/the-morning-call/20210403/281496459084642 Sounds like the did some construction work on the building.

They were selling all assets as a whole and everything is there from before. Why would they add new seats and equipment if they lost tons of money. If they were fully bided, they would use assets from the closed theaters.

AMC is probably doing more than just putting back there signs and logos and getting the liquor license transferred back to them. They are likely installing new seats and equipment to replace everything that was sold by the County that’s if they didn’t manage to bid for some of it back like the projectors. But I picture some people have red recliners in there home theaters now.

All assets are assumed to be bought back by AMC

As of 3/27/2021, the interior signage is starting to be cleared and AMC signage is also starting to pop up again. Most noticeable is the AMC Safe & Clean. Atom Tickets has also renamed this theater back to being AMC.

All of them are still closed. Who knows what they are doing, Tilghman is stuck in time at this point.

Based on the others on the list that the federal government gave them approval to reopen since they were still on the lease AMC went and reopened the larger locations with the more expensive projectors first. This one and one in Sparta they still legally own but haven’t rushed over to reopen. And the Sharrifs sale only lists liability to New Vision Theaters so my guess is that there letting the county recover the post bankruptcy Debts and owed taxes. And clear out the stuff new vision likely damaged. Then when they are in better shape they can go and update the smaller theaters. Probably adding PLF to them.

This looks less like a failure to require since the Mall ownership still shows the building as “rented” but has the Anchor still as New Vision. seeing that its requireing you go to either South Whitehall or LC courthouse its likely a tax sale that started before AMC could even handle any lease issues. New Vision was that poorly run.

That seems odd because the bankruptcy court returned the theater to AMC Theaters since they still were on the lease. This sounds like the Strip Mall decided to not wait for AMC to convert it back and put it up for court sale. The only reason it’s not open now is because the strip mall couldn’t wait for AMC to move back in.

To restate. AMC was trying to reacquire the theater but there was a sign stating that all assets together were for sale and business people can come buy and visit the court house to purchase the assets. The theater does remain vacant with everything still inside.

https://variety.com/2020/film/news/amc-merger-take-over-carmike-theaters-1234752346/#! They have the location back but they have to pay back all of New Vision’s debts before reopening the location

AMC theaters did attempt to require the location since they were still on the lease. I don’t know if that was approved or rejected.

I don’t know if AMC got a choice of what theaters it had to get rid of with the Carmike merger but I bet if they did they wished they had dumped the Carmike by the airport instead. Tilghman is so much better a facility. I wonder what there is to auction off, when a company bankrupts they have to walk away, but it will all depend on who owned what. If the property owner owns the fixtures, there won’t be much of value to sell. At this point I don’t think there would even be a line to buy the seats and projectors considering how much equipment is idle right now. The liquor license they had is the only thing I can think of with real value.

Update as of January 2nd, 2021. The theater is left with everything inside and currently being auctioned off. It may be clear if the theater will reopen with new equipment or close permanently. This may be due to 2 others AMCs nearby.
