My memory of the Logan pre-fourplex is that it was all on one floor, no balcony. I think the description is incorrect.

November 23rd, 1915 grand opening ad as Paramount. You are right, Broan.
They never had 5. That was probably two films sharing the same screen.
December 25th, 1989 grand opening as a 3-plex in the photo section. 5 screens in 1990.
This is interesting. I added a 1908 photo of a prior Logan Theatre. Located at 2164 N. Milwaukee, changed to 2564 N. Milwaukee during the 1909 Chicago Street Re-Numbering Plan. Wow! It looks like they did a nice job on the renovation. I was there once when it was still one screen and it was a pit. I went once more after they split it up and it wasn’t half bad. But I’d guess over twenty-five years it was probably well on the way to being a pit again.
I remember going to the logan on a monday every week ,, back in the 1980,s i saw christmas story there and flashdance ,holloween,, and so on ,, me and my friend walked down there every week,,it was always noisey ,lots of people from highschool (kelvyn park) sometimes fights ,,but we enjoyed it,,we saw the features then we had gyros at a litttle gyro place on the corner of sawyer and milwaukee ave ,,great days

Happened to drive by the Logan tonight. Marquee was dark, and still read Closed For Renovations. Small pile of leaves or something in the doorway area.
I elieve he theatre is closed for renovation
Architect was Walter W. Ahlschlager, which explains why the building looks so similar to the Davis.

In the lobby, just to the left of auditorium 1, there is a sign stating TRY ME ;underneath is a new seat with a cupholder. The Logan will close around Sept. 6, and reopen before Thanksgiving, according to the two employees I spoke with this afternoon. New seats, new and larger washrooms, and a few walls knocked down are among the improvements coming. Also in the lobby, on the south wall, are numerous pics of the Will Rogers and Harding, and- still around,thankfully- the Congress and Logan. The Congress has both interior and exterior views from various years.
The neon is presently being restored. There are big plans for the Logan in the future including new seats, a more arts and community focus, restoration of some historic elements, lobby remodel, etc.

The Logan was a small theatre compared to many other theatre surrounding it.
Does anyone know how to contact the manager or owner of this theater? The published number doesnt take messages and only highlights current movies. Please let me know if someone has an alternate number. I am trying to plan a fundraiser party and a cehcking out this theater as a venue.
