“Esquire Theatre in Chicago. 1989. The Esquire closed in early 1988 and then got gutted and a 6-plex was constructed out of the upper portion of the auditorium and the main floor was converted into a bank. The Esquire 6 opened in 1990 and closed forever in 2006. Then they gutted all that work and it is now various businesses behind the walls of the original theatre. Also; the vertical "Esquire” sign is still up on the façade and it is still lit up at night."
