The Flagship opened on April 21, 2006. The first major theatre to open in Homestead after the devastation caused by Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and the shutting down of Wometco’s Campbell Square. It was closed in March 2020.

I drove down and visited this multiplex during the day shortly after it first opened in 2006 just to take a look.
In the center of the lobby was a tall, maybe 10 foot high sort of model of a lighthouse with circular seating around the base. The staff told me the theater has nautical themes such as the lighthouse and in its logos because the Flagship company is based in New England. (This location is their only one in Florida.)
The projectionist who was walking through the lobby overheard our conversation, including me saying that when a new theater opens I just have to see it, so he offered me a tour of the projection booth, which was one long room serving all the theaters in the multiplex. He showed me large horizontal platters for projecting film, and another machine for the growing number of films being projected from a digital source,(which might have been dvd-like discs and/or maybe even beamed in somehow, I don’t remember).
Though I did not see a movie that day, I bought some popcorn and ate it while sitting under the lobby lighthouse before I left (if I remember correctly). …. Later that year I did go back to see a film.
The Flagship website says they still offer a free movie ticket on your birthday.
Here is a photo of the lighthouse in the lobby I had mentioned in my previous comment from the Miami New Times listing for this theater.
This opened on April 21st, 2006. No grand opening ad found except for the regular listings.
Closed since March 2020, the theater was removed from the Flagship Cinemas website as of February 2022: Homestead, FL: Closed Since March 2020, Flagship Cinemas - Homestead No Longer on Flagship Cinemas Website [Feb 14, 2022]
I agree. The theater should be updated to closed. No longer listed on the Flagship Cinemas website: https://flagshipcinemas.com/
The proximity of the ShowBiz Cinemas Homestead multiplex that opened towards the end of 2019 only three miles away was probably a contributor to the Flagship’s closing.
