Located in the South Side Flats ditrict of Pittsburgh. The Colonial Theatre was operating circa 1914. In 1918 it was advertised as “The South Side’s Cleanest and Most Progressive Theater”. After closing in the early-1960’s it became a bingo club.
The building was razed in 1970 and a new building was erected. Between 2006 and 2010 the site was occupied by the Town Tavern. It is currently (2018) vacant retail space.

There was a theater at 2008 E. Carson st.It was called the Colonial theater at one time. In the 1960’s it was a Bingo Hall. Benny’s Flower Shop was across the street. It is now completely remodeled and houses a trendy bar known as the Towne Tavern. I am sure this information is correct. My grandmother lived upstairs.
