The Spade Drive-In was opened in 1950. The screen of the Spade Drive-In was built with brick blocks that were stair-stepped on each side. Rather than being flat on the back, the screen was layered. “Spade” was spelled vertically in huge neon letters centered on the back of the screen and also in neon was the shape of a large spade.
Additional neon displayed some local cattle brands and ranch names of the area.

Correct.

I also found it parked 250 cars and in 1956 it was owned by W.B.Blankenship.

I don’t remember the Spade Drive In in Levelland looking that way, however I left down in 68.
