Regency Exchange Cinema

First built in 1988 by General Cinema Corp. It was behind the Regency Mall, and it used to a good number of customers. It closed when GCC went under bankruptcy in 2000. I sure do miss it! It was demolished in July 2017.

Hello All. I worked (and Managed) at both Regency Mall theaters from 89 until 95 when I moved to Atlanta. I still keep in contact with the friends I made today.

Was this the theater that showed Free Kids Movies in the Summer ? I vaguely remember our church kids going to see a movie at Regency Mall probably 1990s ( I turned 13 in June 1990) and walking through mall and Ladies Clothes Store and girls telling me not to look at undergarments.

I cannot remember what movie, year, or seeing too many movies at either Regency theater.

Yes….why the county would use that site is beyond me, but I’m not a transit user. Mike, I recalled just the other day how General Cinema completely ignored your experienced advice for the need to build a cinema in the West Augusta market. After all, who were you, a country boy, to second guess the smarter and more business savvy Yankees? Yeah…..how’d that work out for'em?
