A new sound system was installed in 2007. The theater closed in May 2023 due to lingering effects from the COVID pandemic.

Closed in May 2023 because of accumulated debt, pandemic impacts, and mounting financial pressures. It never reopened.
Looking at the facade, the 1946 opening seems a bit dubious. That’s a late teens, early ‘20s style.
Well according to an article, it says that a man named M.E. Walker purchased the site in 1941, which had lain vacant since a large fire damaged the building in 1912.
