Skyway Drive-In

The March 29, 1952 issue of Billboard noted: “A drive-in near Moncton, N. B., which was constructed by R. Pope of Summerside, P. E. I., has been taken over by Famous Players Canadian Corporation. Construction work is expected to be completed during the spring. Its capacity is about 700-cars”. It opened on June 19, 1952 with Gary Cooper in “Northwest Mounted Police”.

The 1955 Motion Picture Almanac included the Skyway Drive-In in Moncton, capacity 540, owner Skyway Drive-In Theatres Ltd. It was closed on August 18, 1985 with Chevy Chase in “National Lampoon’s European Vacation”, Clint Eastwood in “Tightrope” & “Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment”. It was demolished on July 23, 1987,
