Well according to an article, it says that a man named M.E. Walker purchased the site in 1941, which had lain vacant since a large fire damaged the building in 1912.

Looking at the facade, the 1946 opening seems a bit dubious. That’s a late teens, early ‘20s style.

Closed in May 2023 because of accumulated debt, pandemic impacts, and mounting financial pressures. It never reopened.
