The Manor Theatre was a first run movie house owned and operated by Stanley-Warner. It was converted into a roller skating rink for last few years of its life before being destroyed by fire in 1970.

The Manor was in Prospect Park, not Norwood. (In fact, it’s the Prospect Park fire company Web site that has pictures of the Manor fire.) In addition, it was a roller skating rink, not a dance hall, before the fire.
Had my first date at the Manor Theater, spent many a day enjoying the movies at that theater, then got a hoagie at the little house that made and sold hoagies from the front of their house.
Hy Lit ran dances on a weekly basis at the Manor Theater right up until the night of the fire. The architectural sketch of the Manor for the Stanley Companey shows Norwood as it’s location which was why I listed Norwood as the location. I realise that today some of the replacement properties have a Prospect Park address.
What is in the place of the Manor location today? I live near this area now but am not aware that a theater existed here until recently……
The Manor Theatre was located where Midas Muffler shop now stands.
