The McDade Drive-In was opened on November 13, 1957 with John Wayne in “Jet Pilot” & Rory Calhoun in “The Hired Gun”. It seems the MacDade Drive-In was closed in 1981. A Pathmark supermarket is on the site of the MacDade Drive-In now.

Appears that the last year was 1981,, couldn’t find any further ads after 1981..
The correct opening date was November 13, 1957. An image of the ad has been posted.
In June or July of 1977, my mother and I watched Star Wars at the Mac Dade drive-in. It was a very memorable night.
The “Star Wars” run at MacDade Drive-In didn’t commence until July 27th, 1977 and played for about six months, so RidleyRick certainly didn’t see it there during June and quite possibly not in July either.
I grew up at this drive in and the Family Drive In. Was this drive in always owned by SamEric Corp? The Eric name never appeared until the middle 70’s
