The Kerredge Theater was built in 1902 and hosted many vaudeville and stage plays in its early years, as well as movies some time later. In the 1940’s it was operated by Fox Wolverine Corp., a subsidiary of Fox Theatres. The theater was destroyed by fire on May 29, 1959.
The neighboring Orpheum Theater was also damaged by fire in June 1959, but was a separate theater, and was reopened as the Pix Theater.

The Kerredge Theatre was designed by architect C. Archibald Pearce. There’s a photo and a bit of information on the Charles Archibald Pearce page (near the bottom) in the Copper Country Architects section of the Michigan Tech web site.
Photo added courtesy Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula Facebook page.
For a time it was also operated by the Thomas Theatre Group.
