The Strand Theater opened on March 8, 1920 with Jack Pickford in “The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come” plus 5 acts of vaudeville. Seating was provided for 1,600 in orchestra, balcony and boxes. It is featured in the special features section of the DVD of “Deep Throat”, where that feature movie debuted. The sign on the facade in the movie said Strand Riviera but the Riviera Theatre is a separate theatre next door.
The Strand Theater was last used as a restaurant which had closed by 2018.

The Riviera Theatre is just to the right (north) of the Strand. Both closed now, and not in good shape. Hopefully they both might be restored at some point.
