The Wallace Theater was opened on May 20, 1937 with James Dunn in “Venus Makes Trouble”. It was listed as (Closed) in the 1941 & 1943 editions of Film Daily Yearbook. It had been re-opened by 1950 and was still open in 1957. ] The Wallace Theater, the Mustang Drive-In, Sands Drive-In and the Rose Theatre in Andrews were all owned by Wallace Blankenship.

A late 1946 photo probably in December of the Wallace in Andrews. The “The Yearling” was showing with Gregory Peck. A new business the Texas Electric Service company had been joined to the Wallace building and the Corner Drug Store had done some updating.

This one was at 202 N. Main. The theater’s gone, but the old drug store next door is still standing.
The angled front door is what gives it away.
