Diamond Theater

In the fall of 1913, the Diamond Theater opened at 576-578 Alter Street. This one-floor theater did not have a stage and was limited to showing films its entire life. This small neighborhood theater had just over 400 seats and normally showed films in the evenings and weekend matinees.

The theater operated until the late 1960s. The auditorium was demolished but the lobby area was converted to retail space. Any additional information on this theater is welcome.
