Originally opened as the Plaza Rocking Chair Theatre, a 350-seat single screen theatre on September 21, 1973 with Roger Moore in “Live and Let Die”. It expanded to a twin screen theatre on January 24, 1975. By November 4, 1985 it had expanded to 8-screens. It was closed in January 2019.

The Plaza theatre opened its first screen on September 21st, 1973, second screen on January 24th, 1975, third screen on January 16th, 1981, screens 4 & 5 on November 4th, 1985, screens 6, 7 & 8 and a new refreshment center opened on July 4th, 1990, and closed on May 30th, 2019, and demolished for a Publix supermarket.
