Downtowner Theater

The Breeze Theatre was opened on July 2, 1934 with Constance Cummings in “Broadway Thru a Keyhole”. On May 27, 1971 it was renamed Cinema 1 and on June 5, 1981 with was renamed Downtowner Theater. It was closed on May 23, 1985 with Mario Van Peebles in “Rappin'”.

This theater was originally a bank and has been restored to look more like a bank but holds a restaurant. The address is 926 Bay St.

This became Cinema 1 on May 27th, 1971, and Downtowner on June 5th, 1981, and closed in May 1985. Grand opening ads posted.

The Breeze Theater opened its doors on July 2, 1934 with Constance Cummings in “Broadway Through A Keyhole” along with a few unnamed shorts. It was renamed Cinema 1 on May 27, 1971 and was renamed again “Downtowner Theater” on June 5, 1981. It was closed on May 23, 1985 with “Rappin”.
