News About This Theater

Haltom© Haltom City TX

Located in the Haltom City district to the northeast of Fort Worth, TX. The Haltom Theatre was opened on December 27, 1941 with Jack Benny in “Charlie’s Aunt”. It is a brown brick building with a neat red vertical sign spelling out “Haltom” in off-white letters. Since closing in the 1970’s it has been used as a video store, a pawn shop and a furniture store until 2007.

In 2017 it was being refurbished to reopened on December 31, 2018 with a program of concerts, movies and wrestling. That plan was delayed and it reopened in June 2019 as a live events center.

Hello MissRandi. The Haltom is now being used as a furniture store. They recently invited me in to look around and I am happy to say the building and Haltom sign remain in great shape.

They are working on the old Haltom Theater trying to get ready for some sort of show in December. They need pics of it when it was in use as a theater, the older the better. Need pics of how it looked inside and out. So if anyone has any pics let me know.

Haltom City’s new theater, The Haltom Theater, was opened at 6 p. m. Saturday, December 27, 1941. The $35,000 theater was built by G. W. Haltom, who was unable to attend the opening. A view of the theater front at night is pictured here. A vertical sign showing the name of this new theater ‘Haltom’. The marquee has the following listed: Charleys Aunt, Jack Benny, Kay Francis. Men, women and children are lined up to the ticket booth. Two parked vehicles are in the foreground. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 28, 1941.
