Mistake 50sSNIPES, the theatre that closed on July 29th, 1975 was for the location at 318 St. Catherine West.

There were Pigalles at 318 St. Catherines that opened on January 18th, 1974, another at 1563 St. Catherine Est that opened on December 28th, 1957 and closed in 1960.

As for this location, Last showtimes were published on November 24th, 1973 and both it and and the Capitol were demolished for an office building called 1200 McGill shortly after.

A thumbnail biography of architect Daniel John Crighton on this web page says that the Strand Theatre was built in 1912.

There are some lengthy exterior night scenes of the STRAND Theatre in the 1958 film “Intent to Kill” (The STRAND was playing “Rodan” during the filming.)
