“1944-7-6, Victory Day Program Held On Saturday, "Climaxing the war bond drive was a program at the victory center in McMinnvile on Saturday that attracted several hundred persons, and resulted in the sale of more than $20,000 in "E” bonds at the local banks. The program opened with a parade, arranged by Ken Lewis, and included the 70th trailblazer division band from Camp Adair, a company of the home guard, members of the Yamhill county women;s ambulance corps and Red Cross, Yamhill county sheriff’s posse, and the McMinnville fire department. The parade formed at 3:00 p.m. and was followed by a special program of entertainment at the victory center arranges by B.A. McPhillips and Louie Cline, co-chairmen of the program committee."
