Geifman’s Market Grocery Store Window Display -1946
The RKO Orpheum Theatre set up this display in 1946 in what was most likely the window of Geifman’s Market grocery store to advertise their latest feature film, “Tomorrow is Forever” starring Claudette Colbert, Orson Welles and George Brent. Also appearing in the movie was a 7-year-old named Natalie Wood. Geifman’s was located at 119 E. Third St., right across the street from the theatre.
Claudette Colbert endorsed Quaker Puffed Wheat Sparkies cereal, the “wheat shot from guns.” At that time, it typically sold for between 9 and 12 cents per box.
