Went to the continent in the early 90s and the Funny Bone, near where I worked at Ticketmonster for a while. Then continent fell into disrepair, but I guess somebody re opened, and trying to re establish the area. At one time, the sparkling side of the city.

Yeah, North High was definitely different than Kingman. North High Drive-In, the one time I was there, was the quietest drive in I HAD ever been too. (Go figure), It was pseudo eerie.

Dont think ever went to this one, thinking it was bad part of town, when it was open. Remember passing the area it was located in later years.

Is this the theatre that was near the Wal Mart?
If so, I saw Cannonball Run, and Superman II while on my senior summer vacation, while visiting grandparents.

T&C Cinema, wow, this sight is really bringing back memories, cant imagine movie complexes being in the areas that they were like this one. Don’t really remember what movies I saw here, but did see a few. Lived on far east side of Columbus, and frequently Whitehall for grocery shopping, movies, drive in, Massey’s Pizza etc. from late 60s through my formative years.

RichM commented about Cinema East on Jun 6, 2008 at 12:01 pm

I remember seeing JAWS, STAR WARS, and WORLD ACCORDING TO GARP at Cinema East. Man those were the days. Small snack bar, small afternoon crowds, big screen. Had forgotten about the often roped off balcony. Dont believe I ever made it up there. Moved out to southwest 6 years ago. Columbus area sure had a LOT of different theatres back in the day.
Thanks for the memories.
