For the last few weeks of College Park 6, it just had ads to call for showtimes and movies instead of listing them. I guess it was winding down business.
This theater closed in 1991, not 1999. It served as a variety of nightclubs in the 1990s (The Globe, Time Square) before becoming Brazos Fellowship Church in 2006.
Until the construction of a new distribution center in 2025, you could still see the “circles” of where the parking lot were from aerials.
It’s been renovated and reopened as “Airtopia Adventure Park” (trampoline park) but still operates as a movie theater.
Newspapers show Hammond Square Twin was operational at least until May 1999.
It shut down in fall 1984 for the season and never reopened. I was clued in when a newspaper article from the early 1980s mentioned both cinemas.

The cinema building is still there…for now. Only about half of the center was demolished. It also served as TJ’s Laser Tag from 1996 to 1999.
