BIG REBUILDING FOR ORMOND THEATRE
Comfort and facilities equal to those available in city theatres are being provided for the Plaza, North Road, Ormond, under an extensive program of alterations now being carried out. The transformation is a surprising one, but follows restrained modern treatment both internally and externally. The ground floor shop has been deleted to help form a spacious “T” shaped foyer with the top of the “T” running the full width of the theatre. At one end is an imposing staircase leading to the circle foyer and at the other end an alcove with more than 30 ft of counter space, for the service of sweets and drinks. The leg of the “T” leads to the auditorium and off this section are toilets for stalls patrons - PHOTO, Lyle Fowler - State Library of Victoria - Contributed by Greg Lynch -
