BIG REBUILDING FOR ORMOND THEATRE
A flush paneled dado In silky oak forms a quiet background for colorful period furnishing. Ticket boxes are incorporated in the side walls of the foyer. Additional stalls seating has been obtained by moving the stage wall back about, 20 ft, and new, comfortable seating has been provided throughout. A crying room is at the back of the stalls. The new circle foyer has been designed to create a feeling of comfort. It has a low flush ceiling and delicately tinted walls, relieved on the street side by long narrow windows which form a feature of the front elevation. Light fittings have been designed to accent rather than break the smooth expanse of ceiling – PHOTO Lyle Fowler – State Library of Victoria – Contributed by Greg Lynch –
