This must be where I saw FIGHT CLUB.

Came to see if this was the theater Roger Ebert mentions in his review for “The Devils” and check it out, here’s a photo of the marquee with that movie title. How about that.

COBRA opened here on two screens, 12:30-1:30-2:30-3:30-4:30-5:30-6:30-7:30-8:30-9:30-10:30. Movies playing on more than one screen wasn’t a regular thing then.

FeverDog commented about Echelon Mall Cinemas on Jul 2, 2022 at 10:39 pm

Yeah I saw BASIC INSTINCT here and JENNIFER 8, REALITY BITES, and a late show of SEVEN on a November weeknight along with a family who had a child in a stroller. For SEVEN. At like a 10:30 show on a Thursday night.

FeverDog commented about AMC Deptford 8 on Jul 2, 2022 at 10:24 pm

First movie I saw here was PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES. Last, so far, was CREED II. Saw one of the F&F movies there on my birthday in house 6, whichever one opened on April 29.

The AMCs here and in Marlton were notable - eight screens were a lot in the ‘80s.

FeverDog commented about Harwan Theatre on Jul 2, 2022 at 10:07 pm

RHPS here on Saturday nights gave teen me life.

FeverDog commented about Westmont Theatre on Jul 2, 2022 at 9:05 pm

This is where I saw SONG OF THE SOUTH in 1986, its last release.

FeverDog commented about Cinnaminson Twin Cinemas on Apr 6, 2008 at 2:25 am

Saw The Cable Guy here, and there were mounds of trash piled up in front of the screen. Ick.

But back in the day I took in Dirty Dancing, Star Trek IV, Critters II, Karate Kid II..bud used to mention having a blast at Ski Patrol there.

FeverDog commented about Roxy Theater on Apr 6, 2008 at 2:13 am

The powers that be at TLA never programmed their festivals here…there’s some kind of animosity there.

Anyhoo, remember the Inquirer ad for Lair of the White Worm at the Roxy Screening Rooms. Never went there until they picked up Grindhouse, an obviously apropos reason to finally check the house out. Eh, lousy sound, the EXIT sign blocks the screen…just like a grindhouse?

FeverDog commented about Atco Multiplex Cinemas on Mar 18, 2008 at 12:59 am

And, oh yeah, Newsies! Promo newspapers were handed out. That’s all I remember about this movie.

FeverDog commented about Atco Multiplex Cinemas on Mar 18, 2008 at 12:58 am

Remember seeing Eddie Murphy’s “Boomerang” here, and not being impressed. Also the Gladiator with James Marshall, and Home Alone 2. How’s that for ecleticism?

FeverDog commented about Regal Cross Keys Stadium 12 on Mar 18, 2008 at 12:52 am

Saw the Brady Bunch movie here while attending Rowan. Only other one I recall is Scream.

FeverDog commented about United Artists Washington Township 14 on Mar 18, 2008 at 12:50 am

Not bad, but do remember being a student at Rowan and being carded by the teen ticket seller for Kids.

Last Seduction, Outbreak, Swingers, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Empire Strikes Back, second time for Blair Witch…

Nondesript plex competing with a nearby Regal.

FeverDog commented about AMC Marlton 8 on Mar 18, 2008 at 12:47 am

Oh yeah, add The Fugitive and In the Line of Fire to ‘93…crazy summer.

Clue (the Scarlet ending), Aliens, Lucas, Jumpin' Jack Flash, Big Trouble in Little China, Gung Ho, The Money Pit, Top Gun, Crocodile Dundee, Pretty in Pink played here…last time I was in the mall, it was a Limited.

FeverDog commented about Eric Twin Cherry Hill on Mar 17, 2008 at 11:34 pm

Oh my, here I was carded for Manhunter, but saw so many movies here: Batman, She’s Having a Baby, Maximum Overdrive, Dick Tracy, Little Shop of Horrors, Bull Durham, Millennium, Apprentice to Murder, Flowers in the Attic, Police Academy 3, Pickup Artist, Jason Lives, Playing For Keeps, Working Girl, Naked Gun, Deadly Friend, Back to School, Mannequin, Hoosiers, Lethal Weapon 2, Last Boy Scout, If Looks Could that Tower Records was right there.

FeverDog commented about REG United Artists Pennsauken on Mar 17, 2008 at 11:15 pm

I take back what I said about Marie Robinson. She was there before I came and after I left, and who was I at 15 to usurp her authority?

Been thinking about the 5 since I picked up 52 Pickup on DVD…this played in Theater 5, and its UltraStereo phonics remain in my mind. Theater 5 was unique – when will a B movie ever again play in a 1000-seat house?

Ah, all those movies I saw in 5: Rain Man, The Color of Money, Indy3, Future2, Rocky IV, Shy People, Cage, Freddy’s Dead, Child’s Play, Uncle Buck, Angel Heart, Black Rain, Look Who’s Talking…but not T2, which I saw at AMC Deptford 8, or Jurassic Park, at the Marlton 8…

But I’m taken back to 2 these days, where I experienced Patrick Swayziness in RoadHosue, the movie where we carded a score of crispy-banged Jersey chicks. A fun weekend that was. Gawd forbid a “minor” was exposed to Swayze Bum.

That same house, #2, held the opening night of The Fabulous Baker Boys, and there was a publicist from the studio there, worrying about the less-than-crowded crowd there. Ooh, Hollywood cares about the numbers at a Jersey plex, how exciting I admit it sort of was at the time.

2 was where Do The Right Thing wound up its second weekend after 4 couldn’t hold the mass.

FeverDog commented about Fox Theatre on Mar 17, 2008 at 10:39 pm

Was this that twinplex in a stripmall? I think this is where I saw Jason Takes Manhattan, a split shoebox not unlike the Eric Westmont twin. This was part of the Eric chain, yes?

FeverDog commented about Millside 4 Theater on Mar 17, 2008 at 10:36 pm

Why, that’s me! Yes, all those movies KingBiscuits mentioned did play at the Millside 4. Why, I don’t know, as they all played there well after their copyright date. That’s what made the theater cool in its way – it played movies nowhere else did, like the Pennsauken 5.

FeverDog commented about AMC Voorhees 16 on Nov 13, 2007 at 10:25 pm

The quality is slipping already – saw Darjeeling Limited here and the sound was low and muddled, like it wasn’t even in stereo.
