Circa 1937 photo courtesy of Kenneth McIntyre.

Circa 1937 photo courtesy of Kenneth McIntyre. Description also by Kenneth McIntyre, via the Photos of Los Angeles Facebook page. Included in this view looking North across Main street is: City Exchange and Jewelry Company (261 South Main) Photos (259 South Main) Nipon Tailoring Company (257 South Main) Pozar Shoe Company (255 South Main) and the Malt Shop (253 South Main). The Arrow theater at 251 South Main, has signs advertising all seats 10 cents, and talking pictures as well as Vaudeville. This theater was later the Linda Lea and after undergoing major renovations became the Downtown Independent. Signage painted on a brick wall for the Winsel Gibbs Seed Company at 243 South Main, ends this view. This photo may be in the comments section. But there are many dead links there now. So I’m re-posting it here so CT has it in perpetuity.
