Roxy Theatre
While having an appearance similar to the solid brick and mortar work on Crick & Furse’s Sydney ‘Kings’ circuit and other projects, the Springwood result had more of an ‘el cheapo’ wood and fibro look. Apart from a new frontage and vestibule, little was done to the auditorium other than a tarting-up with some new light fittings. Woodrick was always short of funds – perhaps as a result of a recent divorce. Between September and November 1936 £1250 was spent on exterior improvements to the newly re-named Roxy, and cinema upgrade work continued for several months - including the installation of new Magna-Coustian sound equipment and a Masart screen.
