The building will not be torn down. Elon Musk signed a 6 year lease for the space. The space will have 700 parking spots. It is unknown what his plans for the place are but original building woo be reconfigured.

If you call them now the message states that Sunday is their last day of operation.

The sign in the lobby showing upcoming releases is blank.

Me thinks after tomorrow’s show that this cinema is closing. There are only 4 films there. one of the cinemas down the hall is vacant. They’ve removed the sign that show what they’re playing. In the lobby there is a sign that usually shows what’s coming the next few weeks. There are no posters up for upcoming releases, just ones for films there or have been there. I asked 2 people who work there about this and they say they just don’t know what’s coming in. One was a woman who’s been there about 10 years, as long as I have been going there.

It is the end of September and they would be closed on Monday anyway, so they’ll be gone by October.

Oh, one of their phone numbers can suggest other businesses.

I’m shocked, always thought they did decent at the boxoffice.

This theater has apparently closed down again. There is a note on the door that the theater is closed due to them having no heat. The schedule is on the door with no performances listed after Sunday, December 12. This cinema had been open 2 weekdays between Mon - Thu, along with weekends, but here all performances for the rest of the week were x’d out. So I guess December 12 was the last day they were open. Final pictures on the schedule and the marquee are House of Gucci, King Richard, Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Clifford, the Big Red Dog

Why is the Matrix Resurrections opening Wednesday, but playing here only Wednesday and Thursday?

Apparently after closing last Thursday along with its sister cinema the Manhasset theater, they are both reopening tomorrow the 19th. It’s films are Dumbo, Teen Spirit (new to Long Island), The Mustang, Hotel Mumbai and The Aftermath. I have no idea who owns them now.

After closing both this theater and the Roslyn theater last Thursday April 11th they are both reopening tomorrow the 19th. Manhasset is advertising on its marque next week’s Avengers film (which normally would not have played there). Tomorrow they have Amazing Grace, High Life and Wild Nights with Emily (all new to Long Island and more their speed).

The former owners of the defunct Movieworld in Douglaston, NY have taken over the Squire.

This is one of 2 cinemas owned by Bow Tie that closed yesterday, along with the Roslyn theater. The owner of the properties sold them in November, both to the same buyer. Bow-ties' Great Neck theater was taken over April 1 by the former owners of Movieworld in Douglaston, Queens.

No showings before 3:15 this week, they always had showings at 1 PM or so and decent audiences.

From their facebook page.

Folks, this is the last day of operation for this group that owns Glen Cove Cinemas. The theater will remain closed for several months until AMC is ready to re-open. We thank you for your 3+ years of support. We have sister theaters in Sayville, Elwood, Bellmore, Teaneck NJ & Kinnelon NJ and we hope we can see some of you there. As of tomorrow, we will be taking down the page. We wish you all a hearty farewell

AMC has apparently signed a 15 year lease for this theater with construction to start May 22 with the theater getting the now customary AMC luxury seats. 2 screens will be open all summer as work is done on the theater, although they did not get any new films this week and have no listings after Sunday.

Went to this theater on Saturday with the wife to see Fist Fight as part of a deal with the Omni hotel. We saw it in theater 15 which seemed a long way away from the entrance. Theater reminds me of the College Point multiplex in Whitestone, Queens which is closer to home (stadium seating).

Have lived in Queens for 19 years and never visited this theater today to see the Oscar Nominated shorts. Surprised it was so big, very nice. Concessions seems only to be $2 popcorn freshly made at Malverne theater which I go to on a regular basis.
