Originally operated by Cineplex-Odeon, the Soundview Cinemas was opened on May 18, 1990. This six-plex was taken over by Clearview Cinemas in 1998 and closed by that chain in 2010.
It was reopened by independent operator Soundview Cinemas on April 26, 2013. It was closed on September 2, 2021.

I just heard from someone in the cab ride home that the theater may be closing. I hope not.
Despite the go ahead from Governor Cuomo to reopen Long Island theatres, albeit with major restrictions, the owner of the Soundview said he will delay the opening indefinitely because the product just isn’t there. He said it would cost him more to open than remain closed.
The owner tried to collect damages incurred due to closing for the pandemic from his insurance company but was denied by the courts. This may set a precedence for future suits.
They are still closed and the phone has been disconnected. Also, the shopping center has a new owner. Doesn’t look good.
