I remember this theater, but I also remember a small 3 or 4 screen theater at the nearby Killeen Mall that closed in 1998 or so, and I remember a 10 or 12 screen theater on the other side of town that closed in 1999 or early 2000. I can’t seem to find listings for either.
When I was stationed at Fort Gordon, I remember seeing several movies here. Off the top of my head I remember seeing the first Austin Powers, Con Air, and the 1997 Star Wars Trilogy re-releases.
The video that Justin posted is just outright sad! I grew up in Wollaston, and couldn’t even begin to count the number of times I went to “Buck night” at the “Wolly”. It didn’t even matter what was playing! I can remember when “Jurassic Park” finally made it to the Wolly (Nearly a year after it’s original release, IIRC), the lines was almost down to CVS.

In August they are screening the Star Wars Trilogy at the Boston Opera House!
Some time around 1993 or so, they screened the Original Star Wars Trilogy at the Wang, and it was absolutely amazing in every way.

My movie childhood was divided between the old version of theater, Quincy Center, and Showcase Dedham.

I think Loews had taken over the Charles by the time Gettysburg opened.
Apparently the Wolly has been sold and is going to be turned into an Asian Market, because Quincy clearly needs another one of those.
It’s a Home Depot now.
And the building is now totally gone.

I’m too young to have caught anything at the Charles in it’s heyday. The only movie I saw there before it closed was Gettysburg.
Tom, I was at this theater a week ago, and didn’t see the THX sign outside Cinema 6. But they are still listed on the THX website.
