The laser imax is ok. It’s much smaller than what it used to be. The seats don’t recline in the back. Picture quality is ok and the sound is decent but it’s too much money. Dolby is better.
A few miles away from this location there was a major police shooting involving an officer. Thankfully the people are safe inside the Sacred Heart school where they are being protected by the cops.
Any impressions on the laser? From what i saw on advance tickets it’s selling really well because of frozen, which is also helping the dolby and regular screens. The 3d is not doing well. I saw a picture on google maps that showed the theater under construction and it shows reclining seats and the speakers. It’s also fewer seats than what it was after the imax conversion nearly 10 years ago back when Avatar sold more tickets at a bit lower prices and when 3d was all the rage. Now it’s all about 4k and even 8k in the near future. I’ll probably wait until Disney plus has frozen II.
next week Cinemark opens its doors so hopefully it’s a better well kept theater than this one, which is showing its age despite its renovations and expansions from the original six screens nearly 37 years ago.
it seems that 3d is not as popular as it once was…star wars wasn’t shot in 3d but shot in 70mm imax and 35mm along with digital shots..check out the imdb specs…this was the same way with episode 7 but episode 8 didn’t have an imax ratio as the imax version was only scope.
I wonder if Lincoln Square will show episode 9 in 70mm imax or just laser imax alongside the Dolby, 3d, and regular versions in the 20 some year old rocker seats once tickets go on sale after the worldwide debut of the final trailer for what will most likely be the endgame of star wars movies…
Now if AMC can get rid of mice that have plagued this theater since its opening nearly 20 years ago. Forget the bedbugs, rodents are everywhere. Look out for them next time you see a Star Wars or Marvel movie…
Saw Zombieland 2 in theater #15 and noticed the image was movie like as i would see on my 4k tv with a dim image and some dull colors. It was a little blurry yet the audio was good and modestly loud. No imax showtimes for Skywalker yet until the theater opens in late november so there will be plenty of imax seats available while other showtimes will sell out.
Went to see maleficent 2 and thankfully amc management fixed an issue where the movie was only in 2d so they reset the projector and showed the 3d frames. Advanced showtimes now on display for the 9th star wars movie in addition to a long marathon of every Skywalker saga movie . Morristown is the closest with showtimes so hopefully rockaway gets them on Monday..

Hopefully when the holidays approach they will start showing early movies again when Frozen II, Star Wars, and Jumanji come out…used to go there before AMC cut back on the hours due to low attendance. Might check out Malificent in Dolby and see Zombieland in regular this weekend. Can’t wait for imax to open late next month!!!

with the closing of the columbia park 12..there are no more theatres in north bergen anymore…

saw Ford V Ferrari in screen #2 and was told by the cashier that the imax will likely reopen with Frozen II next weekend.
Saw black and blue today in screen #10 and presentation was good. In the lobby there’s the amc imax sign saying it’s being renovated. I cannot wait.
