I guess if you are not a long time member your thoughts or comments do not count.Off topic or not.I did not mention anynames in my comments.Maybe someone should go on every page on C.T. and remove all off-topic comments, that would surely keep them busy. Now back to the Imperial…………
Been reading the National Hills posts seems there are a couple of wantabe Webmasters on that page, that do not like the stories or comments written by folks who actually worked there, that too bad it all has to do with the theatre. If a comment does not interest me I just pass it by and they should do the same and let the real Webmasters do their thing.
Advertisted in the Westview Community Newspaper is a Roxy Movie Theatre located at 646 Highway 46 South Dickson,Tennessee, they advertise Movie-Popcorn and Coke $7.00 Movie line 615-441-8788 www.roxymovietheater.com
In my days we scheduled the showings by the running time of the movie backwards so that the last show would end by 11:30P.M. to prevent overtime in the booth, and the amount of time between showings to get the crowds in and out.Of course we only ran single screens and was pretty easy to set show time,Double features which we hardly every ran was more difficult because the movie run times we not the same and you would have to adjust the show times to make the features and trailers all fit in.e did have a problem one time when we were given the wrong running time on the movie it ran about 25 minutes longer than we had set the schedule it took about 3 days to get the advertisiments to have the correct times in then.
My list of course in mainly Loews or former Loews but I have others on there too.Makes it easier for me to remember ones that I might want to look back up.Yes Mike most of the problems were at this downtown house, the suburb houses had less problems.
I have a few good stories about some things that happened at this theatre, but I should not post them here as some would be obsene. We did have one guy who would stand in the back of the auditorium and expose himself to people,I would run him out and tell the cashier not to sell him anymore tickets, which worked till we got a new cashier and he would reappear,do not know why I never called the police on him but times were different then and being downtown lots of strange stuff happened.Stay tuned for more stories.Did you ever bar anyone from your theatres? We did.
Looks like a great double-bill.
Thanks for the marquee photos Chuck.
