This past weekend was the grand opening and showing of the popular Disney film “Frozen.”
“It’s been great. Their response is great. Frozen was packed. The kids were excited. They were singing in the theater and everyone was clapping at the end, so that was fun,” explained April Schultz, manager of the Harbor Theater.
The address should be 167 W. Main Street. This theatre has been remodeled and is now called the Spring Grove Cinema. It is digital showing first run movies. Tel. 507.498.7469 website
By 1927 this was known as the Opera House seating 400. In 1935 it was known as the New and seated 250. In 1927 it was known as the Vogue Theatre seating 250. It was still listed as the Vogue in the late 1950’s seating 500.
In 1926 theatres listed as open in Morris are the Strand & Lawlor, in 1927 just the Strand, in 1928 & 1929 the Strand and the Orpheum is listed as closed. In 1930 just the Strand is listed. The Orpheum is not listed at all after 1929.
This is not the same Rialto that is listed on that page. This Theatre was at 293 Selby Ave. and was open the same time as the Summit and beyond the Beau Arts.
The only year that I can find the Roso mentioned was in 1949. There was the Grand and the Roxy Theatres in Roseau and the year that the Roso was mention the Grand was not mentioned. After 1949 it was the Grand and Roxy again. The Roso and Grand had the same seat count of 350 so was the Rand & the Roso the same Theatre?
This must have been an early Nickelodeon. It was right down the street from the Bijou. It was not listed in 1925.
The Granada Theatre was owned by Louis & David Deutsch. It was listed as open in 1937.

The Falls Theatre was listed as open in 1938 with 750 seats.
The Avalon Theatre was open in 1931.
According to their facebook page the Staples is closed.

This was oroginally called the Princess Theatre. It was open prior to 1926 and became the Pix Theatre in 1939.
The Sherburn Theatre is a City Owned Theatre and is currently being operated by Mike and Nikki Schwartz. website
