Please update the description, the theatre was a Century Theatre and became RKO Century Fantasy theatre. Cineplex Odeon did operate the theatre as a single screen when the purchase the RKO Century Warner chain. It closed as a single screen with a balcony on January 28, 1988. The last feature to play a single screen was Three Men And A Baby. It reopened as 5 screens on September 2, 1988. 2 screens on the ground floor and 3 screens on the 2nd floor. The theatre was rebuilt. When the theatre open on September 2, 1988, all screens Dolby Stereo and Theatre 1 had 70MM projection.
Only two films played in 70MM at the Fantasy, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade and Far And Away.
AMC which merge with Loews Cineplex, renovated the theatre sometime in 2002 and installed AMC Rocking Chairs that don’t recline.

The screens are fairly small, no masking like the Village VII and Regal Essex Crossing. The only good thing, scope films are not letterbox.
This is a semi Dine In theatre, if you order in advance, they will deliver your refreshments to your site, but it doesn’t have the full menu like Staten Island or Levittown
It features the Heated recliners like AMC Staten Island 9 with tables. As of today, you won’t be able to order fried foods. It on the AMC App. The AMC Cast member said their waiting for the license.

Once 34th Street is done, the other theatres in Manhattan with Sony/Loews signature seats are the Orpheum, Lincoln Square and Harlem USA in Manhattan and of course AMC Love Seats at the Empire.
Most theatres cut down the 3D shows to bare minimum or limited shows. Since laser came out, AMC doesn’t like to maintain the Dolby glasses that are needed for both IMAX and Dolby CInema.
Disney has cut down on that most IMAX films are standard 2D. I like to see 3D, but it very difficult to see. I’m not seeing 3D films on small screens or non Dolby 5.1 or 7.1 screens. I don’t know if some of the former Loews theatres, if AMC replaced the SDDS processors with Dolby Digital.
When I saw a few films in the AMC Empire small houses, it didn’t sound like Dolby Digital. At least when I saw Once Upon A Time in Hollywood in theatre 7 Paradise, I was surprised it sounded like it was Dolby DIgital for the film.
AMC and the former Loews Theatres, the primary sound in the 1990s and the start of the new millenium, the sound of choice was Sony Dynamic Digital Sound.

Saw Joker in 70MM at the Alamo Drafhouse Downtown Brooklyn. I notice the film was in flat, I thought all 70MM films are widescreen (scope). The sound sounded like 70MM 6 track.
Films like ET or Back To The Future which were FLAT films, did they look like they were FLAT in 70MM or widescreen.
All the 70MM films I saw in the 1980’s and early 1990’s were widescreen.
I would love to see photos of inside the theatre when it converted to seven screens. The basement theatres were lousy and BS Moss had mono system installed in the basement in 1981.
I just posted pictures of the different screens on the main floor. The plaque for the Valencia was missing and AMC removed the LOEWS plaque when they went DOLBY. Unfortunately don’t have them for the downstairs screens.
Don’t like seeing movies downstairs because when AMC went digital, the masking for FLAT films is awful and the manager said they don’t have curtains to cover it. When Loews ran 35MM film downstairs, FLAT films weren’t a problem.

QUESTION, I was on yelp and it look like a auditorium is not stadium seating. Is is possible that 1 or 2 screens are not stadium seating. I almost went their a few years ago on vacation, but went to the Ritz 5 which I wasn’t impressed, it was like a 1980 retro movie place, not modern.
In Brooklyn, NY United Artists converted Sheepshead Bay to Stadium seating with the exception of 2 screens. Did that happen at Riverview also.

Question is what happened to the orchestra, when I was their in August 1994, it had 6 screens which were on the two old balcony levels. It would of been nice Loews would of built a screen in the old orchestra level.

Star Wars is meant to be seen in IMAX laser 3D. I Don’t understand why 3D shows are very limited
