They are currently open and digital on 3 screens. The 4th screen is still dark, and they have stated it is possible that they will convert the 4th screen this year but that they “need to take care of a lot of deferred maintenance.”
Ok, in answer to that last question, there just so happens to be an Historic Aerial from 1959 over the area. I did some scanning and found a Drive-In north of Sidney at the corner of Sharp Road and Sidney-Wapokaneta Road, also known as County Road 25A South. 10001 County Road 25A South, Sidney, OH appears to work for Google, there is a church on the site. I can’t get that address to work for Historic Aerials though, so I used 14150 Sharp Rd, Sidney, OH 45365 for that. That maps to a trucking company on the south side of the street across from where the Drive In was. The drive in is fully visible in the 1959 Historic Aerial, the outline/ramps are visible in the 1972, 1981 and very faintly in the 1994 one. By the 2004 one pretty much all trace of it is gone.
Their Facebook page stated on April 26th: Latest word from Patti Cakes is we will open May 4th, but I know nothing beyond that. Details coming soon.
Then there are 61 comments and in the middle of all of them was another comment from them: The contract last year fell through. It happens. We currently have some interested parties, but nothing concrete. We will definitely make it through the summer.
So, I’m keeping an eye on this but as of this Friday the status might need to change :)
144 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, New Hampshire is the address that should point to this ozoner. That is the location of the aerial that someone uploaded, it is from 1978.
UNITIL Gas & Electric is now on the site. Current Google aerial shows nothing, but the street view from October of 2017 has a building on the site, and the marquee is gone.
It may be a park now, but the Google Street view from August of 2017 shows what appears to be the marquee still standing and the building that housed the projection booth has either been repurposed or something built exactly in the same spot.
Ok, this is nearly 4 years too late but blu_tango, that picture you have is of the Sutton Motor-In
110 Worcester Providence Turnpike,
Sutton, MA 01590. It has an entry on CT as well.
This appears to be a very early DI and wasn’t there long. I don’t see it on any of the Topographical Maps, but the outline/ramps are visible in the 1959 and 1960 Historic Aerials, but it’s obvious the drive in is no longer functioning at that point. By 1971 there isn’t any hint that a Drive-In used to be there.
Looks like this one was located at 2830 Eglin St, Rapid City, SD 57703. Currently the home of Ace Steel & Recycling. The Drive-in is visible in a 1971 Historic Aerial, and the screen is still standing as of the October 2015 Google Street View. The screen is used to advertise the Steel place and is fully visible from Interstate 90 which passes to the north.
The most recent Google Street view is from September of 2013 during the week that it closed. The marquee reads: FINAL NIGHT SATURDAY “Despicable Me 2” Longfellow Carnival Everyone Invited $15 Carload
1731 NW 2nd St, Madison, SD 57042 will put you there. Now the home of Tire Motive Service Center, no hint that a DI was once there. Visible in a 1965 Historic Aerial.
2527 US-212, Watertown, SD will put you at the entrance to this old DI. It is visible in full in a 1966 Historic Aerial. Currently the road that the address drops you at is all that remains, but not for long.
https://www.flickr.com/photos/henk/37904523145/in/photostream/ has 3 photos of this DI, and it states that it was on Highway 191 but I have been up and down that road on Google Maps and Historic Aerials Topographical included and I cannot find it.
Last street view was August of 2013. Overhead view shows marquee, entrance booth and concession stand/projection booth are still standing. Footers for the screen are still visible as well.
I believe 1225 Eastgate Dr SE, Rochester, MN 55904 will put you where this former drive-in was. That is the site of Lucy’s Taco’s but Historic Aerials puts a drive-in there in 1954 and 1972.
Nothing I try gets it to map correctly. Suffice it to say it was several miles south of town on US-59. The sight is roughly a mile north of the Mahnomen County Airport on the East of the road. The White Earth Veterans Association apparently uses the site.
38987 County Road 186, Sauk Center, MN 56378 is roughly the location of this Ozoner. It is visible in the 1964 and 1991 Historic Aerials. It would appear that a few ramps and the concession stand/projection booth building are still standing.

No it is not. It is a good 20+ Miles to the Pennsylvania border from this DI…with the Elm Road Triple DI in between!

I’m usually not one for random non-pertinent comments but that is one of the weirdest shaped Drive-Ins I have ever seen.

They have a “friends of” Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Friends-of-the-Historic-Variety-Theatre-219445750326/
The marquee has been renovated and is apparently turned on nightly. Not sure how much has happened inside but they have made progress!

The Projection Booth is still standing as of a September 2011 Street View and current Google Aerial.
Current Aerial shows the screen and marquee have been removed.

Google Street view is currently still from 2008, everything is still there. Current aerial, however, shows nothing remains.
Looks like The Home Place actually uses the base and the poles from the original marquee for their sign.
Last street view was August of 2013. Overhead view shows marquee, entrance booth and concession stand/projection booth are still standing. Footers for the screen are still visible as well.

Google maps to it fine, if you want to see Historic Aerials you need to use Maplewood instead of St. Paul.
