EARLY DAYS AS AN ASST. MANAGER OF OUR CINEMAS I DID TIME HERE ONE LONG LONG SUMMER, THEN RETURNED TO WERE MY HEART WAS THE CINEMAS, THIS DRIVE-IN WAS A VERY VERY HIGH GROSSER IN ITS TIME, AND WAS A LANDMARK FROM THE HIGHWAY 128, EVEN ALL THESE YEARS LATER WHILE CLOSE, THE GROUNDS ARE USED FOR A PARK AND RIDE NOW
As a single when first open had about 1800 seats I was relieved the theater manager for a vacation of two week remember it was one of the earlier BOND films
So right about the shadow box the patrons love it I being with G.C.C. since 1959 but the focus or aptitude was now as good and when you go to a plate picture really was not as clear as using masking I alway felt and most of the union men I know the masking help give a sharp look
NO THIS CINEMA WAS ONE OF THE FIRST IN SHOPPING CENTERS THE VERY FIRST FOR GENERAL CINEMA, AT OPENING HAD NO CURTAIN BUT DID HAVE A STAGE IN THE SUMMER BEFORE I STARTED IN 1959 HAD SUMMER STOCK, AFTER SUMMER BACK TO FILM, ONLY 35MM SOUND WAS STERIO 1427 SEATS WITH THE BALCONEY LATER A NUMBER WERE ADDED AND THERE WERE SPLITS,
