The Majestic theater, which had been closed in 1935, underwent a transformation and emerged anew as the Rio on November 4th, 1938, thanks to the efforts of Wilmer & Vincent Corp.

On March 14th, 1980, the third screen was inaugurated. The advertisement proudly declared: “Note: We did not split our present auditorium - We built a new building so there are 3 full size theatres!”. (Plitt split up their theatre the December before)
