40 years ago this weekend the mall was opened. Construction on the inners would take awhile before it finally opened and became the first AMC theater in north jersey to open.
It’s also the only theater in morris county and northwest jersey to have an atmos sound system which most people can afford to pay for a home theater system and recreate it along with a 4k tv. The next 4k presentation for this theater is Close Encounters 40th anniversary, followed by part one of the It duology the week after. Baby Driver is currently playing in Dolby Cinema. The pilot episodes for Marvel’s Inhumans will be playing in imax this weekend for two weeks before It comes out in imax. My guess is that kingsman 2 will be in dolby and imax with blade runner 2049 next.
The imax screen along with the lincoln square and lefrak imax are the only ones left in the NYC area with 70mm imax projection.
They should renovate it with recliners and reserved seating.
I wonder if any of the former amc loews houses remaining will become amcs with recliners soon…
Earlier today inside the mall there was a robbery at a jewelry store according to 1010 WINS. The mall was evacuated but everybody came in safely.

How tall is the dolby screen in paramus compared to the ones in Clifton and rockaway?
The rolling stones concert movie “Let’s Spend the Night Together” was shown in 70mm here for a limited run back in 82.

They should revamp this theater as soon as the one in parsippany reopens as a luxury theater.
This location is popular for showing Indian movies since Parsippany has a huge Indian American population.
